The Raising Horizons pilot program is officially off the ground.
Jet Zero Australia and Airbus have recently partnered with NRL Cowboys House, and last week, conducted a visit to Townsville to talk to young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students about a future in aviation.
The program, spearheaded by Gunggandji Aerospace, is about encouraging students, especially girls, to extend their aspirations to the range of careers in aviation that extend beyond being a pilot. It takes a whole crew to get a plane off the ground: air traffic controllers, mechanical engineers, logistics, and more.
The students were happy to participate in aviation-themed activities and games, plus learn a little about sustainable aviation fuel and the future career pathways available at Jet Zero Australia.
We’re excited to work alongside the next generation of Indigenous young people in Townsville.
